It was -20 degrees Celcius in Davos, Switzerland. I felt excited because it was time to take le sac perdu for a stroll. Got my 4 layers of outfit but still,.. 5 minutes of walking outside, I could feel the blood in my face and my hand went freezing.
Luckily, there was a cute local coffee shop nearby called Kaffee Klatsch at the Promenade Street.
I like coffee but I don’t normally drink it hot. But in this case, I must be outta my mind if I keep my routine with some cold frappucino. Maybe hot capuccino or hot caffe latte sounded good to ease the cold weather. So I went in.
I couldn’t help but fall in love with the homy ambience of this cafe. It was like they put something simple and beautiful on every corner. I even loved the toilet sign.
I ordered a hot cafe latte and chose to sit on the corner.
I ended up sitting around 3 hours skimming some thoughts on my mind.
First, here I am, thousand miles from home. I looked around and the barista throw a smile at me. It is funny how sometimes people I barely know, somehow could make me feel welcomed. On the contrary to how i feel about some people I know back in my country who could make me feel terribly unaccepted.
Second, I just realized how good having cafe latte hot. I put some brown sugar n couldn’t stop sipping on it. So for now i’m just gonna miss my cold frappuccino.
Once in a while, we all crave for an adventure. It is the need to be far from home in order to feel missing going back home. Some of the adventure I desire even need to be face to face with what you call a dangerous situation. But hey, just like Paulo Coelho said,
“If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine. It is lethal”.
Couldn’t agree more, Mister.
