I have to confess that I’m such a sucker for dessert. No need for anything too avant-garde. Just give me a slice of cake or a scoop of ice cream and I’ll be jumping up and down or even do a cartwheel. Ok, that’s obviously a bit hyperbolic. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good dessert. If possible, all day long.
I’m always on the look out for some good sweets whenever I’m traveling. Finally, I came across this one in Stavanger (Norway) at a restaurant called Renaa Matbaren. In the menu it just say Pavlova With Mango. But when it’s out of the kitchen, I was blown away. The pavlova is so cripy on the outside yet still gooey on the inside. They managed to make a small crack on the top, and filled it with seasonal berries (blueberry, currants, etc) and slathered it with some good ol’ homemade passion fruit coulis. And the mango sorbet is the creme de la creme. Sweet yet tangy, and so smooth. I simply can’t stop after the first bite. Pure indulgence in a plate.
